evagatory

Cheers Paddy. Thanks for your interest. The piece I envisage doing is text with a simple image; the text functioning as a kind of caption: ie. '...above...', followed by a seeming desciption of the scene itself. The text will appear to be straightforward; and appear to offer a straightforward description of what the image shows - figures involved in an activity, related to creating soundart/noise of some kind. The whole scenario, though, will be fictitious - which will be apparent to those who understand and can sufficiently decode the references included in the text. The effect should be blackly-comedic, satirical, surrealistic; the references will be taken from and will refer to my usual preoccupations of philosophy, culture, ideas, history, social history, art, music, improv, so-called experimental music, and the like. The texts I make like this are dense arrays of references, wherein I attempt, by making separate fields collide, to make another kind of sense of the things depicted. That's the longwinded version! The short version is that I'll be making a picture, with words under it, as a kind of black comedy piece referencing stuff I like!
Best wishes
Anthony
