Hello * Emu ref in response to your ostrich quip... Just to keep the record straight! Although, I did have a 'thing' about Rod Hull and Emu as a child; anarchy for kids it looks to me these days! Emu as a proto-Gramsci... Hell yeh! I played Emu in the school play when I was about nine! Never looked back... Anyway... I thoroughly enjoyed the Hafler Trio interview. New to me; and would like to learn more. I couldn't access the sounds at all (Hafler link itself seemed to be inactive; rest of main page fine, though); so still in the dark as to what he does soundart-wise. I like the weirdness of the flow of the interview; nothing connected properly (a very favourite thing of mine), and he was gloriously pedantic and comically careful. I liked the mystery. Can fully understand why our exchanges and what they might amount to prompted you to think of this stuff. Nice to know, in that sense, that you have had it in mind. Annie Sprinkle I am familiar with; so it was nice, and nicely-odd, to get from her to soundart, or vice versa. I like the conflating of these two, usually separate, worlds - whatever, 'alt sex' and 'experimental music'. Throbbing Gristle had that - with GPO and CFT referencing prostitution, S&M, etc. From Mail Art perhaps, you'll know the Prostitution show they did, as COUM, at the ICA in, I think, 1974. Sprinkle, too, I knew kind of artified her researches into sex and its environs. I do similar in my blog images - letting that show to greater and lesser extents; often offering enough disconnection or white elephants as to, again, disconnect per se; or, fail to signify, as I used to say.
