This is an amazing picture. An amazingly striking face and crosses the boundaries between the past and the present and the future. It has elements of the eighteenth century and strange futurism too.

Have you seen the Cremaster films? This reminds me of those. The films are amazing.

I know what you mean; and I chose the original image and made my alterations on that basis. The pose itself is wonderful. Just a great shape, I suppose.

I have one of the Cremaster films - the one set in the Guggenheim (is it? - I should know, degree in fine art and all!). I like the weird admix of futre and ornate past; bit D Jarman, bit Peter Greenaway. I like the punk band that can't quite get it together beyond the intro. He's married to Bjork, of course. Must be a right laugh at home, eh?!
