Anthony Donovan is an artist, musician, composer, improviser and writer based in England. He works solo, either as Murmurists or under his own name, and is associated with projects such as Destroyevsky, Ou_pi Golgotha.undead, Spidey Agutter and the.clinamen. An ardent collaborator, he has worked with the likes of John Zorn, Jochen Arbeit, Geoff Leigh, PAS, Steve Beresford and Damo Suzuki. Donovan co-curates the respected labels Classwar Karaoke and suRRism-Phonoethics with Jaan Patterson. His interests are all either obscure or opaque, but morally authentic.

they are hacking lambs with axe and hatchet
then placing them in a polythene packet.
freezing the flesh for your consumption
you'd kill them your self but haven't the gumption.
they are chopping beef with surgical precision
to save you the effort to make that decision.
they are boiling lobsters in copper pots
then garnish the stuff with some shallots.
they are growing chickens who never cluck
feeding them on dead pigs and muck.
they are sweeping the floors in Smithfield’s hovel
and placing the waste in your cup of Bovril.
the farmer he pays a heavy price
to keep the vet well greased with vice,
he pays him well over the odds
to fill your pies with cancerous bods.
but don't you worry, never fear
your hands are clean but your morals unclear.
