Thank {minion} - glad you are entertained. I appreciate your comments. I suppose, in some obvious sense, I intend them to be inexplicable; so words are not the issue. Inexplicable sounds grand, though; maybe they are just frippery, and (mildly) undeserving of captions....

They are messages of a certain kind - they are meant to prick certain things, and to provoke certain things. I am light of intention - mostly - but the aim is serious! Surrealism / black comedy ... thereabouts

I love the fun of this. I'm not even so enthralled with the contrast between the bell and person...but the bell and the sofa makes me grin like a Cheshire Cat. Something so mundane and so 'suburban' and so dull against the lush shine of a bell. Full of Christmas promise.

Also...I'm sure that people 'sit' for a photograph and always...we do take it seriously don't we? Whatever the photo might be. And to push a bell on their head takes away their intent.

I'm reminded of that Vic and Bob sketch - from Smell of, I think - where Vic has a bucket on his head, Bob hits it, removes it, and Vic has a bucket-shaped head! Lovely stuff! For me, it's the idea of a Goth with that addition of perverse humour. Goths are funny and have humour. But, like Germans, are often cited as incapable of raising a smile. Again, smiling is political. For a Goth and for a German smiling is uber-political! Get smiling!
