It is great to tear down the boundaries between what is masculine and what is not. There is a certain airbrushed image of the city slicker that creates utter normality. If I was a city slicker...I'd wear something really, really subversive underneath. I think to have someone suited and booted in make-up is great. If only we could see more of this at London Bridge - would make the commuting more bearable.
And Lydon always was (is) unique. He would tear down any boundary in a second.
Also, I think that the closeness of the other faces adds a homoerotic edge to it. There's something suggestive about the way the man on the right has his mouth open.
A lot of City-type chaps are wearing kinky stuff underneath - when McLaren and Westwood started Sex a lot of their clients were bankers and their ilk. McLaren said they used to try stuff on in the cubicles and leave stains.
Talcy Malcy measured my inside leg once - not for clothing or anything, just for jolly.
